God's forgiveness and mercy is always available when we come to him in repentance. Yes, the warnings are serious and and the consequence of sin is severe. But His mercy is readily available for us when we return to Him. I'm so relieved that God is quick to respond in mercy. I unfortunately do not always extend forgiveness so quickly to others. This verse is a good lesson for mothers, teaching us to speak kindly to our children when they need mercy.
I agree Fawn and my relationship became much better with my children when I started looking at them as not only my kids but God's children as well, if that makes sense. In the beginning I always expected my children to obey my rules no matter what!!! but that did not work for long, because I was forgetting to add an abundance of mercy to them when the rules were broken. I know I would want that for myself with God and when that came into focus not only did their lives change for the better, my did also. Thank you Lord that you teach us how to be better servants to You through our children
