Anything Study - Week 4 Friday

Read Matthew 18:1-6

SOAP  Matthew 18:3-4

It seems that Jesus wants us to learn some important truths from children.  Children are completely dependent on their parents to provide for them.  This utter dependence is a simple faith on their parts that comes naturally.  In the same way, believers must be utterly dependent on God for salvation and daily needs.  We can connive and manipulate circumstances to work in our favor, but God wants us in a place of total trust in Him.  New believers can also teach this quality to us, as they rely on the Holy Spirit.  I will be observing my children today so that I can learn from them for a change.

  1. Today we must open our hearts up to God and receive the things He has for us in these verses. Here are some better goals I have set in my own life and that is making Him more real in my life and submitting to His authority. Once, I tried very hard to please man and found my own failure in this and condemnation from others. I did not measure up, but as I turn to God for my guidance He began a daily process of changing my heart and what once seemed so important to me became the least. I know there are mountains of anger, bitterness, control, jealousy and other things that everyone has at some point in their lives. As Christian if we don’t become like little children and get over these things quickly, heaven will not be on our compass (so to speak).

Really our time here is so short why live it in such chaos, wouldn't it be better to overcome and be happy, I don’t think twice about it because my answer will always be YES!!!. The things of God are much more important to me than what man thinks and I want to always be like the little children with a pure heart before God. What small amount of time I have here should be spent showing others the path to heaven not away from it.
