Read: Mark 10:17-31
SOAP: Mark 10:21
Jesus was not adding another requirement to salvation of selling one's possessions. Jesus knew this man's heart and that his riches were preventing him from following Christ. It makes me wonder if I have things in my life that keep me from following Christ. We all have different struggles. I think my convenience or comfort can prevent the best potential relationship with Jesus. Following Jesus requires sacrifice by taking up a cross. I pray God will be able to use me. I must keep from erecting walls to prevent that from happening.
Good Morning Girls
ReplyDeleteJesus had compassion on this enthusiastic young man that ran and knelt down at his feet declaring all the good things he had done. I believe this man was sincere in his declaration and thought surely he would be among the first to enter into the kingdom, but his commitment to serving Jesus was shallow. Everything looked right on the outside but his heart was empty of Christ and full of the world. I know I must be willing to do whatever Jesus ask of me and here’s a thought, maybe it’s not going out and saving the entire world, it could just be going to the guy across the street. Jesus wants my obedience, my willingness to do as he asked, not trying to convince Him that I’m better suited for something else instead of what He has chosen for me. I feel Him moving in my life and I know in time it will unfold if I obey verse 21 by taking the cross and following Him where ever and whenever He says.
