I put love in my search program and it pulled up 280 different references so that tells me it’s a very important subject. The bible says in Matthew 22:37-40 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Do we really abide by these words in the church body? Jesus taught that we are to love God completely and walk according to His word and we are to show others the love of Christ, especially to those who don’t look or acts exactly like us. In the times when Jesus walked the earth, people who were poor, homeless, hungry and sick were not allowed near the church, and sadly to say there are many who get turned away from church every day because of their social standing. But we are supposed to be like Jesus and reach out to those in need. The gospel cannot be spread to those who need it if we only stay within our comfort zone. So I guess the basics of all this is, if I don’t have love towards all men then I am not a Christian.
