If I am calling myself a Christian then I had better have the same character Jesus does. My treatment of others and the love I show them is what sets me apart from the world. Only those who are willing to put Christ above everything (family, career, hobbies and more) are called to do His work. I have said it before that fruit should be flowing out of my life and demonstrating Jesus in every sense. Another fact is that if my fruit is old, rotten and stinky because of my bad attitude then it is certain no one will want to be around me and then I place a bad name on Christ. Borrowing from an old saying “I don’t want to go around looking like I’ve been baptized in pickle juice” and how will that draw people to Heaven? I am convinced it won’t, only the Fruit of the Spirit growing in leaps and bounds in my life will have an impact on people and this is the direction I always need to be headed.
Lord help me to lift You up in all areas of my life, those that are seen by people and those that are not, help me to treat all people the same with Your love and kindness.
