Week 8_Tuesday

Good Morning Girls

Read Luke 16:13-15  SOAP Luke 16:13

This passage is so true - we can't serve God and money at the same time.  It's exhausting to keep up with the latest things, especially electronics!  There is such a freedom in forsaking that idea of having the newest things.  Women are particularly plagued with this, but seem to be in denial about it.  Shopping and obsessing over pretty things is almost a rite of passage into womanhood.  But try as we may to justify this thinking, it simply isn't Christlike.  Money is a wonderful tool that we can use to build God's kingdom.  We can also use it to obsess over ourselves or collect nice things.  Father, give me the fortitude to use my resources for your glory, not wasting it on myself.

  1. Good Morning Girls

There are two classes of people in this world, those who love money and want more of it and those who think money is the pit of all that is evil. Riches sometimes can be measured by what you own such as your home, your land or by what you drive. The bible speaks on two different kinds of riches, it sometimes recognizes your wealth with a sign of approval and blessings from God, such as the case with King Solomon or it can be identify with the state of the wicked, like Judas. Jesus never taught that it was a sin to be rich, but he did warn it could keep you out of heaven if you placed its value above God. As our soap today states I cannot love things of this world, whatever it may be, more than I love God. I can use this today to search out my own heart to check and see if there is a root that might take hold in my life and be used as a tool to weaken me.
