Week 7_Tuesday

Good Morning Girls

Read Luke 15:8-10  SOAP Luke 15:9

A couple of points here.  First, the sinners with whom Jesus was associating were extremely valuable to Him.  Just like the coin worth a day's wages, these people were of great value.  Sometimes we forget how much God truly loves and values us.  Our relationship with Christ is designed to be one of closeness and love.  The other truth I noticed here is the various methods God uses to bring lost souls to himself.  He can use a friend, a stranger, tragedy, success, or the simple hearing of His Word to bring us to the end of ourselves, acknowledging our need for Him.  I'm so grateful for these parables that are wonderful reminders of God's love for us!

  1. Here’s a great quote from John MacArthur that I love “No one is holier than a sinner who has received grace” and that sinner was me and you and all who have bowed before Christ and repented. We know that God loves the sinner and sent His light into the world that all who receives Him would be saved. I am a holder of the light of Jesus Christ and it is my job to go out and spread the gospel and rejoice when I see lost souls receive Him just as the woman did when she found her coin. But here are my thoughts; am I as diligent as the woman searching for her coin in spreading the gospel? Searching out that person I can cross paths with and giving out the good news of salvation. Unfortunately we get so busy with our lives (a trap I am sure we have allowed the devil to set up) that it’s really hard to have time for others and even less time for gospel. My whole purpose for being here on this earth is to glorify God and do the one thing that could make Him the happiest, bringing lost souls to His kingdom. I pray in my busy life I don’t forget my purpose in serving Him.
