Week 8_Thursday

Good Morning Girls

Read Luke 8:26-39  SOAP Luke 8:39

A simple command Jesus gives - for all of us to follow, "Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you."  Those who have been delivered from much, have much to declare!

I'd like to praise God for what He has done for me.  Specifically, He has carried me through some severe financial and marital heartache.  He has given me grace when I was surrounded by enemies.  He has protected me and given me friends when I lived in places where I knew no one and was unfamiliar with the culture.  He has blessed me with two children that were conceived and delivered without any complications.  He has blessed our church even though we feel unworthy to lead sometimes.

Father, thank you for your many blessings!

  1. Good Morning Girls

Matt. 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

This is known as the great commission, given to the eleven disciples and to all who follow the name of Jesus Christ. We are all called to preach the gospel to those who do not know Christ; this doesn’t mean we have to stand behind a pulpit. It simply means if you call yourself a Christian then we are to be Christ-like go out and be a witness. Our Soap today was about a total lifestyle change in a person. The people had to be astonished at miraculous change in the crazed person they once knew. For there he sat with Jesus in his right mind and yet they were afraid, not of the once demon possessed man, but of the great power of Jesus and amazingly they ask Him to leave. Jesus gave the man a commission much like he did all of us in Matthew, we are to reach others and use our lives as the testimony of His amazing loving. I want others to look at me and say where did Susie go? all I see is God. It is possible, I have seen it in a 17 year old girl, full of love for Christ who is willing to go to any public event and hand out gospel tracts and tell others of Jesus.
We are called to witness of His love, His saving power and His deliverance from our sins. How can you do this? Not by your own power, only by his power. Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

  2. to declare how much God has done for you. To be a walking example of the grace and love God has shown you. I hope that when others look at me the love of God. He has brought me through the darkness of abuse, rape, miscarriage, and financial struggles. He was there through the preclampsia of all of my pregnancies even when my babies where born early. Even in the midst of despair, I have never been alone. God has always been there through it all. God is my Rock. My faith has grown because of my struggles. I know through it all, God is Good.
