Read Luke 9:49-62 SOAP Luke 9:58, 60, 62
This dialogue between Jesus and the people is timeless. We make excuses when it's actually time to step out in faith. Excuses reveal the unwillingness of the heart - as kind of hoping the opportunity doesn't work out so that I am not obligated to it. We must never quench the Holy Spirit. If He is calling us to act, let us act - even if we don't have all the details. He blesses obedience every time.
Good Friday - Let us remember what Jesus endured for us today. He took our sin as His own. I am looking forward to the service tonight.
Jesus did not have an earthly home. He also emphasized that there would be a cost to following him. We cannot be selfish when it comes to following him. This is an area that I know I have to work on daily as the scriptures say. Please dear Lord, help me to put you first no matter what. I want to follow you faithfully and fully.

ReplyDeleteWhile Jesus was on the the earth he was on a constant movement spreading the gospel and it is certain He did not get attached to things down here that would distract Him. He said go and spread the gospel but we are holding on to things (home, career, sports…etc) of this world, if so then there is no way we are fit for the kingdom of God. I also have to keep moving forward toward the Kingdom, I cannot be compliance in my walk and I have to daily increase my movements, I cannot be the same person I was a year ago. I will have to say over the course of the last few months I have a road full of turmoil but it has brought me here to this point in my life and that point is knowing His peace in the midst of a storm. Knowing that whatever shall come before me then He will be there as my shield and guide.
I think at times we get the scripture twisted when we say “No weapon form against me shall prosper” and then say “well I don’t know why that happen”. It is certain things are going to come our way that we don’t like, but they won’t take root and settle in our lives as we turn to Him and cry out for His protection. I never want to become a stumbling block to another person even if they slander and persecute me. I have to pray that they will be release from the anguish that the devil places inside of them and be free to enjoy the Lord and all His blessings.
Lord I pray that I can love as you did, that I can reach others as you did, and that I can be willing to sacrifice all that I am for the kingdom of heaven as you did.
complacent....you can't always catch spell checker...lol. Also I get so wrapped up that things are pouring out of my mind usually quicker than I can type and generally I miss a word or two. But its coming from a heart that loves Jesus Christ :-)
