Week 2_Thursday

Good Morning Girls

Read Luke 10:25-37  SOAP Luke 10:27, 37

I found that there was a prevailing belief among the Jews that they should hate people who reject God.  Jesus' answer to the lawyer dispels that incorrect thinking, commanding them instead to love all people.  By giving the example of the Samaritan, Jesus puts all men on level ground - further confusing the lawyer.  The story Jesus shared tells us to seize every opportunity to show God's love.  An unexpected kindness may just spark a necessary conversation with someone, in turn saving his soul.  Father, help me recognize opportunities that you have given me to share your love.

  1. Good Morning Girls

I loved our soap today and when I read about loving God with all that we can possibly possess that made me pretty happy but then I read love your neighbor as yourself….yikes!! That is where the joy became a little lessen. For real, don’t we have a hard time loving those that we around sometimes, but that is what is he requiring for me in verse 37 that in those times when it is the most difficult it's then I have to push a little harder to obey.

Help me Lord in my human state to complete the hard things in my life.

  2. The scriptures today showed me that I really struggle with this. Love my neighbor as myself. Do I perform acts of mercy from my heart? Do I just do things for appearance sake? The Samaritian sacrified time, money, and energy. The ones who should've stopped and helped him did not. Do I do that? I know that I need to show love to anyone I encounter instead of people like me. This is my prayer dear Lord, that I will reach out and show mercy to anyone I come in contact with that has a need.
