Week 3_Thursday

Good Morning Girls

Read Luke 11:37-44  SOAP Luke 11:39-40, 42

Wow, the scripture really speaks for itself here.  I think the Pharisees had the same problem the American church has:  Working hard to present an external image that doesn't match the heart condition inside.  I wish I would have practiced this truth in my early adult years.  Why we do we strive to appear like we have it all together when we suffer internally from sin?  Father, help me to consider my heart condition more important than public perception.  Forgive me when I fail to match the inside with the outside.  Give me courage to address the sin that so easily besets me.

  1. Yes, definitely Fawn. I think we are all guilty of this at times. WE need to strive to search our hearts and do things for the right reason other than it just looks good outwardly. We need to be giving and serving from the heart, not prideful, boastful, or greedy. These things will definitely effect our relationship with Christ and others. Oh Lord, please help me when my heart isn't in the right place.

  2. Good Morning Girls

The Lord told the Pharisee’s that they might look clean on the outside with all of their religious clothing and deeds but their hearts were covered in filth by their traditions. That can be said of all of us who profess godliness and in our private life be another way. People may not be able to see the hidden things but God always does and for me I want to make sure my entire life is clean and glorifies the Lord. I had a thought the other day while doing a study, what if my thoughts were blared to the world on a megaphone, what would people hear? I determine (for that day at least) I would not be grumbling and have only positive thoughts and truthfully I barely made it out the door before I found myself thinking negatively. It just becomes a natural thing to do if we aren’t careful and I believe little seeds grow into big trees. I don’t want anything to separate me from the blessings of the Lord so I am in a journey to overcome any of this in my life. Allow me dear Lord to be successful in my mission!!!
