Week 7: Monday

Read: Luke 23:1-12

SOAP: Luke 23:3, 12

It's funny how conspiracy brings people together that otherwise would never collaborate, e.g.. Pilate and Herod.  But even the sins of people are used to bring about God's will.  It was prophesied that Jesus would die for mankind, and nothing could have stopped it.  These men were simply pawns in the master plan.  Perhaps if we viewed life more in light of eternity, trusting each detail as part of God's design, we would worry less about negative experiences.  For God uses the whole to create something beautiful, if we are willing to be used by Him.

  1. My Momma used to always tell me that “birds of a feather flock together” and this have never been truer than in verse 3. Pilate could not find any fault with Jesus but not wanting a make waves with the Jews for his own gain released Jesus quickly to Herod. Herod wanting to gain an audience with Jesus to see for himself the man, whom John had preached, of whom he executed, also could find no fault in Him. Both men powerful in their own realms could not stop the events of the day unfolding for Jesus had come to fulfill the prophecies that had been spoken of Him. Their earthly power diminished quickly after their deaths while Jesus death became salvation for all men. Two evil rulers who became friends over their common dislike of Jesus for different reasons both now can see Him as He truly is, The King of Kings and The Lord of Lords.
