Week 8: Wednesday

Read: Luke 24:36-43

SOAP: Luke 24:38-39

Jesus sensed the doubt in their hearts before it was ever spoken.  He knows us in the very same way, sensing when we don't really trust Him.  Would He ask us the same question, "Why do doubts arise in your hearts?"  He has kept His promises to us, leaving us no reason to doubt Him.  Father, help me focus on your truth and not my volatile feelings.

  1. I think that must have been some sadness for Jesus to need to remind the people that He had been for the last few years concerning the things that would happen in His death and His resurrection. Jesus ask His disciple to really look at Him, to touch Him, for a spirit does not move with a body, He wanted them to believe in Him at all times. But if I look at this scripture and place it in my life then in all fairness He is asking the same of me. He is asking me to believe in Him when problems arise and maybe the first thing I do is turn to a natural source, whether it be my husband or a friend, before turning to Him. He is asking me to believe in Him when I do not see Him and He is asking me to have faith in Him. I know this is something we all have to work on and the bible tells us that He is never too far from any of us and if we reach out to Him then He will be there.
