I don't think I would risk my life for people, knowing that they would still reject me. But Jesus didn't risk His life, He sacrificed it. Jesus yearned to forgive these people even as they were abusing Him. I am so grateful for the extent of Christ's love. Even when I deny Him with my thoughts or behavior, He always wants to restore and forgive. May I be as devoted to our relationship as He is.

ReplyDeleteJesus ask the Father to forgive them right in the mist of the torments and pain He was feeling. I feel so ashamed that mankind could be so cruel, but even in all of that I must be thankful for the thoughts He had for all who would come to Him. Knowing that I will have to forgive every offense made against me like my Savior did and when I think I cannot then look to Him. Here is a quote from John MacArthur I liked really well. “Jesus forgiving them while they were in the very act of mocking Him is expression of the boundless compassion of divine grace” that is a great way to look at scriptures and I am so thankful for that grace in my life and pray I can reach others and point them towards the cross so they may receive that same grace.
that last line was kind of redundant but I guess you get my point....."Grace" something I didn't deserve but got anyway.
