Week 7: Tuesday

Read: Luke 23:13-25

SOAP: Luke 23:23-25

I can't help but be disgusted by the injustice of Jesus' murder.  Imagine how believers must have felt during this joke of a trial.  An outsider might be tempted to sympathize with Pilate Pontius, but he really just caved to political pressure to murder an innocent man.  He could have resisted the crowd and chosen to do the right thing.  Nonetheless, God's ultimate plan was brought to pass through these tragic decisions.  I thank God for sending Christ to suffer this unspeakable injustice for my sins.

  1. Good Morning Girls

We have three groups of people in our soap today that leads me to many thoughts. First, we have the people crying out for death, insisting, demanding for Jesus to be crucified and by the way it was the most horrible type of death a person could experience at that time. Secondly there is Pilate, a small pawn in a major movement of fulfilling prophecy, then thirdly there is Barabbas, a robber, a thief, a murderer. A man set free on the account of Jesus and at first I thought “how unfair” but then it struck me, how can I look on him with such distaste when I knew that I was Barabbas and I was the sinner, the liar, the thief and was also was set free from my death by Jesus Christ. Thankful to have any opportunity I can find to give Him glory for all He has done for me and the amazing thing is that I never had to do one thing except receive Him into my life and ask for forgiveness. Following is a song I hope will upload called Barabbas and it pretty sums up the whole gospel and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
